The "Guitar Smash" design references one of rock music’s most famous photographs: bassist Paul Simonon smashing his Fender Precision Bass on stage at New York’s Palladium in September 1979. Photographer Pennie Smith captured the moment, and her image was subsequently used on the iconic cover of The Clash’s London Calling album.
